Meeting Baby "N"

I had the great honor of taking the "D" family maternity pictures not more than 4 weeks ago, we had such a great time and they were such troopers-especially considering that the due date was that following week! Well, the little one has arrived, and I think we are all better for it! He is a dream!

I was able to go last weekend and take his offical newborn pictures. He was so adorable!!! So mild and relaxed. We all had a splendid time visiting, playing with him, and taking some pretty amazing pictures. Not mention that mom is a professional pastry chef, so she was amazing and made us all breakfast while we had the shoot! (a million thanks again for that!)

Enjoy the goodness below- he was 3 weeks old and just full of baby goodness and yummyness.

God Bless!Erin

Of Pirates and Grandparents....

Last Sunday I was able to take my mother and father inlaw out to Verdi with my little one to have a grandparent session.

We had so much fun! My little guy was thrilled to be able to wear his pirate hat and have is sword--he was swashbuckling in no time at the feild, all that was missing was a boat! He had a great time showing off for MiMa and Papa all his wonderful pirate skills.... "ARRRGGGGHHH Matey!"

Like I have said before, this is my absolute favorite time of year! The colors the crisp air and spending time with family. Enjoy the images, we had a great time making them!

God Bless, Erin

~a little pumpkin on the way~

Last sunday, we were blessed to be able to hang out with the most awesomest couple. Yes, I am allowed to say "awesomest" especially when you find out that not only were they completely excited about some of our more artistic ideas, but they are expecting thier first little pumpkin ANY day!

We had such a wonderful time treking around the old apple orchard in Verdi...that place is fast becoming one of my favorite locations for portrait shoots! Anyway, we headed up there about sunset on a beautiful crisp fall afternoon. The lighting was just yummy, and we couldn't have asked for better colors. Tiffany and Josh are one of those couples that the moment you meet them, you feel like you've been best friends forever and you are just hangin out...like I said, most awesomest.

For this portrait shoot/maternity shoot I wanted to challenge myself a little bit and think outside the box. So I brought along an old frame I had, a welcome sign, and a little bitty chair and some blue ribbon....the result is below. :)

Thank you Tiffany and Josh for one of the best times I've ever had treking around an old orchard, with empty frames, and tiny pumpkins! Abby and I just can not wait for the little one to arrive! Thank you for letting us have the privledge of being part of your next chapter in your journey together!

And now, for the good stuff! Enjoy and God Bless, Erin and Abby

Baby "A"

Abby and I photographed Baby “A” about a month ago, and she was just the most perfect little one. So sweet and adorable. She was exactly 1 month old when these pictures were taken.—it never ceases to amazing me how little and fragile they are, but can capture anyones heart, and you can already see little personalities coming out in them! Thank you Kat for letting us be a part of your little ones life and we look forward to photographing her through the years as she grows up! God Bless, Erin and Abby

My amazing and talented sister came up this past weekend and visited--- the colors were so beautiful in Reno I just couldn’t resist to take some fun fall shots of her in her cranberry jacket with the gold and yellow fall background colors! So much fun! Fall is my absolute favorite time of the year- there is so much that is exciting about fall….pumpkins….colors…crisp air…sweaters….jackets….falling leaves…. Enjoy and have a blessed day! -Erin

Nevada City

About 2 weeks ago I had the great honor and privilege of going on a women’s retreat with my church to Nevada City. Christie Mumm ( of JLM Creative Photography) and I were able to go up a little bit early and take in the sites of Nevada City before heading over to the retreat and got some fun artistic shots of the town.
It was so nice to be able to escape for a weekend and have a wonderful time with other women and enjoy God’s creation and celebrate our Lord! I will be posting more from the Night photography that Christie and I did…(sneaking out past curfew but WELL worth it!!!) God Bless, Erin

Night “Light Painting”

Sometimes its just fun to break out of the “norm” and just have a great time doing some creative pictures. Well, that’s what Christie (JLM Creative Photography) and I were able to do on our women’s retreat about 3 weeks ago. We “sneaked” out after everyone had gone to bed and went hiking around the camp to the field below the conference center, just us—the moon, stars, random deer that were wondering what in the world we were doing, and our cameras….oh yeah, and some light sabers, glow sticks, and flashlights…. What we came up with is below--- SO much fun! And even funner to be there watching us “paint” with the light—quite comical! We were laughing so hard about that we just kept painting and painting well into the wee morning hrs….but it was totally worth it!!!

Landscapes and “field trips”

Last weekend I went on a field trip. Yep, grownups can go on field trips too. : ) I went with a Gordon’s Photo service workshop down to Hope Valley, CA –then to Taylor Creek Lake Tahoe, and then to Emerald Bay Lake Tahoe--- Left town at 4 am to get to Hope Valley at sunrise….well worth the early morning, I got to the workshop just as the sun was coming up and whisping through the fog of the early morning. There was frost on all the grass of the valley, and it sparkled like tiny jewels all over. The trees were beautiful—painted in orange, yellow and splashes of red. What an amazing day.
God is an amazing creator! I love to be able to capture just a drop of creativity with my images-- I met some really cool people too. Can’t wait to go on more field trips with them later!!!! Enjoy and God Bless, Erin

Gillian and Neil South Lake Tahoe

Sneak Peek....we are busy busy busy editing the pictures from Gillian and Neils wedding, but I wanted to share a few that I just love.

They had a faboulus day- they were married at Regan Beach in S. Lake Tahoe- and the weather was perfect- just a little overcast, and the lake was calm as glass. They were so excited for the big day. One of the coolest things was that they had a bagpiper! Yes, a REAL bagpiper that played while the bridal party entered the ceremony area! It was so amazing!

Gillian was a beautiful bride--inside and out! And Neil couldn't wait to see her! The love poured out from all thier friends and family that day!

Enjoy some of the images from the day! I will post a few more in a couple days--- We wish you many many years of happiness Gillian and Neil!!!

God Bless, Erin

Sneek Peek Gillian and Neil say "I Do!"

Abby and I had the wonderful privledge of shooting Gillian and Neils wedding this past Saturday at Regan Beach in South Lake Tahoe.

We had the most perfect weather, and there were big thunderclouds over head that were a little concerning, but the down pour held off until just after we had finished pictures of the newlyweds.

I will post a much more extensive blog in a little while, but wanted to share a few of those little special moment detail shots from the day.

Enjoy and God Bless! -Erin

Splendid Senior Shoot Out

Whew! say that title 3 times fast!About 3 weeks ago my dear friend Tiffany from Pure Photography invited me to come on a creative session with her and her business partner Fawn, and the faboulus Michael Escalera (Michael Escalera Photography). We had a wonderful time taking some pretty amazing photos of Fawns nieces. What wonderful girls! We trecked around in the old apple orchard in Verdi-- what a great time we all had! The girls were more than willing to comply with this crazy photographers requests-- They climbed trees, danced in the feild, and we even got to see deer grazing in the meadow!

Enjoy the goodness below, and make sure you check out Tiffany and Fawns blog http://www.purephotographyblog.com/ as well as Michaels http://www.laketahoeweddingphotojournalist.com/

They are all amazing photographers and I have the utmost respect for them as fellow professionals and friends!!!!

Have a blessed day! -Erin

The Aftermath...

I took the below image at our recent Trash the Dress session in Lake Tahoe...I love how its just kinda the "aftermath" sitting on the beach...the colors/the chair that does not belong in this setting, but is somehow there...the shoes in the sand... just kinda fell in love with the artisticness of this shot when I was going through my pictures again from that day.

Hope everyone has a blessed day!

Gillian and Neil Engaged!!!

This past Saturday Abby and I went to Nevada City CA to meet up with one of the most faboulus couples we have ever had the pleasure of meeting!

If you have never been to Nevada City I HIGHLY recommend going! Our amazing day started at "Lefty's Bar n Grill" on Broad Street in Historic Nevada City, which was a wonderful little place and they gave us free drinks to celebrate Gillian and Neils upcoming big day! If you are visiting NV City be sure to stop in and have a bite to eat!

After we got refreshed with some tasty ice tea, we headed out for the shoot,- we ended up at Empire Mine State Park- we got there with exactly 10 mins to spare before the park closed....we were able to go in for just a little bit, and its deffinately somewhere that we will go back to when we have more time- beautiful landscape and 1800's era buildings. Lucky for us, even though the park closed the entrance (which had awesome buildings and textures) remained open and we were able to shoot there.

Like I said earlier, Gillian and Neil are WONDERFUL! and I do mean that- they just radiate love for one another. They are one of those couples that complete each others sentences and thoughts and don't even really know they did it.

They are kind and considerate of each other and respect one another--- Neil is constantly making Gillian laugh, and you can see how much he loves her! Gillian absolutely adores Neil, all you have to do is look at her when she is gazing at him--the love pours out of her for him.

We had such a splendid wonderful fantablous time with them and we can not wait for the big day!!! It will be a day full of true love.

Enjoy the images and enjoy their joy and happiness!
